Because the PC is a completely open platform, VideoGuard PC is designed to ensure that your valuable content remains protected in a dynamic way that minimizes potential leaks.

A Trusted Secure Player (TSP) in the PC provides the enhanced security framework. It also transfers content descrambling keys, re-encrypts or localizes content and descrambles it for playback. Content delivered to the PC is also localized so that it can only be played on a specific device.

Converged PC (CPC) services

CPC services are designed for operators who want to create a complete pay-TV experience on the PC. This may include a variety of broadband services.

CPC delivers live TV, on-demand services, and time-shifted viewing on PCs for on-line and off-line enjoyment and includes the VideoGuard Key™ to provide superior, hardware-based content protection. It uses the key’s storage capabilities to transfer content securely between PCs, DVRs, and other CE devices.

VideoGuard PC is a complete TV on PC offering for platform operators that features:

• Live TV supporting SD and HD video, DVR, EPG, VOD, and progressive downloads.
• VideoGuard Key™ for hardware based security and provides the ability to securely transfer content and viewing rights between PCs, DVRs, PMPs.
• Secure peer-to-peer content sharing.

Broadband PC (BPC) for open Internet services

BPC is a software based PC TV solution that enables content aggregators and distributors to deliver a unicast TV experience over the public Internet. Offering a web based Flash user experience, BPC supports all web standards and a range of players including Windows® Media Player and Flash players.

With a BPC system, users can enjoy VOD services and download services while connected to the Internet. VOD services enable users to view real time streamed content while the download service enables the user to download and securely store content into the local PC disk for playback later.
