What about low bandwidth networks?

Quality of service. NDS Metro features Progressive Download, a technology developed by NDS to enable operators to maintain quality of service while delivering IP content over low bandwidth connections. With Progressive Download you don’t need expensive VOD services and the high specification networks that are normally required to deliver HD content.

DVR without dedicated storage. NDS Metro also has a solution for STBs without storage. An external drive can be added to the STB’s USB port. This delivers full DVR functionality on low-cost STBs. The NDS Network DVR solution also records content in the headend, thus freeing bandwidth to the home.
