PMU’s Online Sports-betting Offering Launches on Orbis’ OpenBet Platform as the Online Gaming Market Opens in France
Leading sportsbook and online gaming software supplier Orbis races ahead as it goes live in France from June 2010 with PMU and Paddy Power
London – 7 June, 2010 – Leading sportsbook and online gaming software supplier Orbis is proud to announce the launch of the PMU’s sportsbook offering from 9 June 2010 in time for the opening of the French online gambling market.
The ground-breaking deal sees Orbis supplying their market-leading OpenBet sportsbook platform to one of Europe’s largest gaming operators. The PMU offering has been developed in conjunction with Paddy Power, a longstanding Orbis customer.
Paddy Power will supply their trading expertise and price feeds directly into the system, delivering up to the second compelling market and price information which OpenBet’s LiveServ and LiveOdds will publish directly to the user’s browser in real time. This will bring the latest and increasingly popular betting-in-running technology to the emerging French online market in time for the 2010 World Cup.
Other key areas of development include PMU’s decision to implement the OpenBet Display Manager software to provide a tailored consumer-facing website that PMU can update as the market and their online betting offering continues to evolve. Additionally, Orbis has supplied Openbet’s Campaign and Promotion Manager products which are key tools in offering powerful marketing campaigns to significantly enhance the betting experience with strong promotions to maximize customer retention.
David Loveday, CEO Orbis Technology Ltd, comments; “This is a good example of how open, flexible and scalable our betting technology platform can be, enabling a seamless integration between both B2B and B2C operators and indeed B2G which is a key area for us. What is significant in this case is that the supplier of the information feed was another OpenBet customer. Naturally, our in-depth experience of that customer’s system, combined with our strong working relationship was invaluable during the project.”
He adds; “As the rest of Europe also looks towards the possibilities offered by the opening up of their gambling markets, we believe our deal with PMU lays down a marker for what Orbis can provide to new market entrants.”
Christophe Leray, Chief Information Officer of PMU, comments; “With Orbis’ strong reputation and proven track record of compliance together with their enviable expertise in sportsbook online software, they are the perfect partner to support us as we lead the way in our new online betting market.”
